Who We Are

The Mission and Vision of the Hollister Downtown Association

The Hollister Downtown Association was established in 1984 to revitalize the Historic Downtown to be the hub of social and economic activity in our community. We utilize the Main Street Four-Point Approach to revitalization methodology designed by The National Trust for Historic Preservation–a community-driven, comprehensive approach to revitalize older, traditional business districts throughout the United States. The Main Street Approach advocates a return to community self-reliance, local empowerment, and the rebuilding of traditional commercial districts based on their unique assets: distinctive architecture, a pedestrian-friendly environment, personal service, local ownership, and a sense of community. The vision of the Hollister Downtown Association is that Downtown Hollister becomes an economic, cultural, educational, governmental, and social center that respects that past, present and future through its blending of people, places, and possibilities. The HDA is a professionally staffed 501(c)6 non-profit organization and is represented by a volunteer governing board.

What We Do

The Hollister Downtown Association is a non profit community based organization. As a Main Street Program City, the continued revitalization of our historic downtown is important.  We work hard to create a vital downtown district through beautification programs and community events. Come join us and discover the dining, shopping, history, and vitality that downtown Hollister has to offer.
